NearMasjid features

A mosque finder first, with the prayer, Qibla and Quran tools a traveller needs.

Mosque finder

Find a mosque near you, on a map or a list

Open NearMasjid and the mosques around you appear on a map, or switch to a list sorted by distance. Search by mosque name, town or postcode, then open directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze.

Plan Route

Every mosque along your drive, in order

Tap Plan Route, set where you start and where you’re going, and NearMasjid lists every mosque along the drive in order from your start, with how far each one sits off the road.

Facilities

Women’s prayer space and wheelchair access

Each mosque shows whether it has a women’s prayer space and wheelchair access, where known. Filter the map to only those mosques, and suggest facilities when you know a mosque well.

My Mosque

Your mosque’s next prayer on your Home Screen

Star the mosque you pray at. Its next prayer and a countdown appear in a Home Screen or Lock Screen widget, and one tap opens the mosque in the app.

Prayer times

Prayer times, the way your mosque prays

In London, NearMasjid can use the London Unified Islamic Prayer Timetable, the printed sheet many mosques follow. Everywhere else it calculates times on your device with your method, Asr rule and offsets.

Quran

Two real mushafs: Madinah and Indo-Pak

NearMasjid includes two complete mushafs: the 604-page Madinah (Uthmani) mushaf and the 610-page Indo-Pak mushaf used for hifz in South Asia. Switching changes the script and the page breaks.

Translation & tafsir

Kanzul Iman translation with Khazain-ul-Irfan tafsir

In Continuous reading mode, turn on Show translation and choose Urdu, English or Roman Urdu. The translation is Kanzul Iman. With Urdu selected, Show tafsir adds the Khazain-ul-Irfan note under ayahs that have one.

Qibla

Face the Qibla anywhere

NearMasjid shows the Qibla on a compass or on a map, with the bearing from your location, your current heading and the distance to Makkah. It tells you when you are facing the Qibla.

Dhikr & duas

Adhkar, duas and a tasbih counter

NearMasjid includes morning, evening and bedtime adhkar, duas from the Quran and for daily life, a tasbih counter, a salawat counter, the 99 Names of Allah, the Kalimas and the Hijri date.

iPad

Made for iPad, not stretched

On iPad, NearMasjid uses the larger screen: the mosque list sits beside the map, mosque details open in a side panel, prayer times show as large tiles with a sun arc, and the mushaf reads like a printed page.
